Dak Ismail Khel is a village in Nowshera District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Surrounding villages are Saleh Khana, Spin Khak, Jaroba and Jalozai. It is the largest village with respect to both area and population in the region.
Its main inhabitants are Khattak which is further divided into two social classes (ذات) Miangan and Khattak, although their roots are same; both are the descendents of Ismail Neeka. The Miangan are divided Mohalla-wise as Marchaki Garhay,Deeri Sar, Thagaan, Ganjan, Khar Malat, Mulyan and Bara Maingan. The Khattak are broadly divided into Bara Neema (the upper part) and Kuza Neema (the lower part). Bara Neema includes Malakmiri (Thekedaran), Mata Khel and Nek Naam khel. While the Kuza Neema includes Abbas Khel, Zafar Khel, Nathu khel, Shaheen Khel, Bhuri khel.
This village has produced notable personalities in the fields of military, engineering, poetry etc. including Shaikh Babar Baba RH (Neeka Sahib), Pir Rehmat Kareem RH, Lieutenant General Alam Khattak, Maj Gen Saad Khattak, Dr Raj Wali Shah Khattak, Dr Yar M Maghmoom, Dr Aqeel Khattak, Dr Sarfaraz Gul and Iqbal Hussaain Khattak. Core Development to village is made by The Great Nazim Mian Lutf UR Rahman Khattak( Shaheed) and his place is now taken by Mian Khaleeq Ur Rahman Khattak, a leading personality of area.
